¡Hola, Rulers!

Durante los ultimos años, nuestra política con la Banned List ha sido intentar equilibrar todos los formatos competitivos con prohibiciones agresivas, intentando, poco a poco, conseguir el equilibrio.

Y ha funcionado. Actualmente, los Top8s de los GPs tienen mazos muy variados, diversidad, y representación de todos los estilos de juego (tanto aggro, combo, y control, como midrange, voltron, etc). Después de esta temporada de GPs de Paradox, y a con la próxima temporada llena de GPs de Wanderer, vamos a ser mucho más permisivos que de costumbre, pues ya no es necesario el acercamiento agresivo a la banlist trimestral.

Esta vez, nos hemos concentrado en reducir el poder de los mazos más poderosos, para permitir que otros mazos diferentes, que estaban muy cerca del nivel de poder de los actualmente más populares, encuentren su espacio en la competición.

Seguiremos la temporada competitiva muy de cerca, y volveremos a hacer ajustes (en caso de que sea necesario) con el lanzamiento de The Quest of the Seven Keys, después de verano.

WANDERER UPDATES

 

The Final Stance (PofA-111) + Shitalkin, Seer of the Coral District (TEU-025) + Godless Plea (MP03-010) (Banned from Rune Decks only)

Durante mucho tiempo, las cartas prismáticas (cartas de cinco atributos) han variado su nivel de poder, debido, casi siempre, a factores externos que permitían obviar el mayor obstáculo a la hora de jugar dichas cartas: su coste. The Final Stance ha pasado muchas veces por la combination banned list, apareciendo y desapareciendo paulatinamente, según evolucionaba el estado y velocidad de Wanderer. Adelantándonos a futuros (y cercanos) acontecimientos, hemos comprendido que el devastador efecto de The Final Stance solo puede ir a mejor, y, por lo tanto, con mucho pesar, es momento de prohibir esta carta. Aun así, como sabemos que los efectos poderosos os gustan mucho, pronto crearemos una carta con efectos similares pero más complejos de conseguir.

Shitalkin ha sido una de las cartas más llamativas en Wanderer del último año, incluso bajo doble combination ban, posicionando a los mazos de control en ventaja de cartas positiva de forma barata y eficiente. Con la inclusión de Saint Eisha, Shitalkin gana una keyword ability que desequilibra su nivel de poder. Si bien podríamos haber aplicado una combination ban más a esta carta, creemos que ha llegado al punto de no retorno, y hemos decidido prohibir esta carta.

En cuanto a Godless Plea, y a todas las demás cartas que han entrado en la combination banlist de MP03, aunque creemos que el metagame está equilibrado, variado, y sí, dominado por MP03 (del mismo modo que sucede cada vez que aparece una nueva Masterpiece Collection), hemos decidido complicar a todos estos mazos de MP03 sus condiciones de victoria, obligándoles a replantearse sus líneas de juego y su estrategia. Por eso, hemos decidido prohibir esta carta pero solo en el Rune Deck.

Teniendo en cuenta todo lo explicado en la sección anterior, hemos decidido añadir estas combinaciones de cartas a la lista de combinaciones prohibidas.

Graveyard Keeper of the Demonic World (TST-057) + Crea, Wooden Reborn (TEU-028)

Wanderer está lleno de combos chulísimos y muy rapidos de efectuar, además de tener varios combos infinitos con dos cartas (que requieren una tercera para que dicho infinito no termine en empate). Por lo tanto, consideramos que es apropiado que este combo exista de nuevo en Wanderer. En caso de que se vuelva demasiado popular, tomaremos medidas más severas.

Estamos muy cerca de la primera rotación grande de Paradox, cuando a finales de este año el Hero Cluster abandone Paradox y un cluster nuevo se introduzca en el formato. Las cartas que prohibimos hoy son un adelanto de dicha rotación, pues si algo ha definido al Hero Cluster ha sido “las cartas de coste alternativo / gratuito”. Todas las cartas que de forma condicional (y casi siempre, con [Quickcast]) son gratuitas en el turno de cualquier jugador aceleran la velocidad de las partidas de Paradox de forma artificial. Otras, pasaban de ser respuestas a amenazas, e incluso han pasado a acelerar el final de algunas partidas puntuales hasta el mismísimo turno 1.

En cuanto a Vacuus y Crea, estas cartas fueron diseñadas con Wanderer en mente, y su nivel de poder ha superado con creces todas las expectativas de Paradox. Ahora que hay muchas más colecciones en Paradox, y con muchas nuevas herramientas defensivas o de generación de contadores [+100/+100], estas dos cartas ya no necesitan formar parte del formato.

Por último, el nivel de poder de algunas cartas varía enormemente, dependiendo de si se encuentran disponibles en todo momento o deben robarse. Demon’s Blood ha demostrado ser una carta pivotal en los Rune Decks, pero muy inferior al tener que robarla del deck. Lo mismo ha sucedido con Dance of Ten-Thousand Cuts, así que creemos que, añadiendo la aleatoriedad de tener que robarla para poder jugarla, su nivel de poder se restablezca. Teniendo esto en cuenta, hemos decidido prohibir estas cartas en Paradox, o prohibirlas en los mazos de runas en Paradox.
